Biography

| Italo began training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) in Fortaleza, Brazil as a teenager. Immersing himself within this sport he won multiple championships in Brazil. This lead to an invitation to teach BJJ at the prestigious American Top Team (ATT) in Florida, USA in 2004 along side UFC fighter Thiago Alves, WEC featherweight champion Mike Brown and DREAM fighter Gesias ‘JZ’ Cavalcante. He was awarded his black belt at ATT in 2006. Since moving to England in 2006 to begin duties as Head BJJ coach for ‘Trojan Free Fighters’ he has won the Seni 2006 No gi Super fight and the Seni 2008 Black belt challenge against Roger Gracie student, Kevin Chan. More recently, Italo won the Bristol BJJ open 2009 Summer leg Super fight against Gracie Barra Black belt Rapheal Dos Santos and was placed second at the CBJJE European championships. |
